Many look a lot better when they have a little color. This is the reason why spray tan is the hottest trend these days. Numerous people are turning to spray tanning to get that stunning bronze glow. In the past, people prefer to get tanned naturally, but since prolonged exposure under the sun is harmful to the skin, it gained a bad reputation. Even tanning beds are not a good thing these days.

Before considering instant tan, you should learn the basics of spray tanning. Here are things that you should know about it:

What is spray tanning?

Spray tanning is considered sunless tanning. It is the application of fine mist spray on your body. Best spray tan is designed having DHA (Dihydroxyacetone). DHA reacts to the skin by turning it tan or bronze. The effect lasts from three to seven days. Generally, it is safe for the skin. However, it does not provide any protection against UV rays.

What are the methods of spray tanning?

Many celebrities and models prefer spray tanning because it is easy to use and it is not time-consuming. There are three methods you can consider here. The first method is going to a tanning salon with booths; the booths are equipped with nozzles that are capable of spraying the entire body with the tanning solution. If you are not up for it, spray tanning can be administered using airbrush; this is similar to what the painters use. Airbrush is smaller and portable compared to booths. Finally, you can get a spray tan from a bottle. Many companies produce spray tanning products having the same ingredients provided in salons or airbrushes.

What are the pros and cons of spray tanning?

Before learning about the pros and cons of fake tan, you should know that regardless of the forms (lotions, cream, and mousse) of self-tanning, they use the same active ingredient – DHA. The good thing about spray tanning is it is easy to use – after blending, and you can instantly spray it on your entire body. Another benefit is it dries rapidly compared to other tanning products. As for the color, it varies from one person to another.

For those that do not like spray tanning, the biggest downside is the cost. You should be aware that one session can cost anywhere from $25 to $50 depending on the place. This is more expensive compared to using tanning lotions and creams. Another downside is you have to continuously experiment to get the blend that you like. Remember that everyone has different skin chemistry. What worked for the others might not work for you. With this, you need to constantly experiment and see what works best for you.

How to prepare for your first tanning session?

As soon as you give tanning spray a chance, you should schedule for an appointment. Before going, make sure that you shaved or wax. Do not forget to exfoliate your skin before you come to your appointment for better results. When you are in the salon, remove the makeup, moisturiser or deodorant before allowing them to spray. More importantly, before application, apply a meager amount of Vaseline on your knees, ankles, palms, and elbows. Do not forget to wear a shower cap and put lip balm on your lips.

  1. Hello just wanted to give you a quick heads up. The words in your
post seem to be running off the screen in Opera. I’m not sure if this is a format issue or something to do
with web browser compatibility but I thought I’d post to let you know.

The style and design look great though! Hope you get the problem
    solved soon. Thanks
